Language response
Language response is mandatory for all master's theses in Swedish and English, except for the study programmes in languages and for theses written in the target language or in Finnish in Didactics of languages (incl. mother tongue), where language response is part of supervision and registered by the supervisor. The language response is carried out in the language of the thesis (Swedish or English) before the start of the thesis evaluation process.
See the Language Services' information on language response
Supervisor's final check of the master's thesis
The supervisor checks that the master's thesis fulfils at least the following formalities:
Use of AI
Also check that the students, if they have used AI in their thesis, have documented it correctly - see information in the intranet about AI in studies, but also note if your field of science provides specific up-to-date instructions on it.
Student's need to apply for confidentiality to the Head of Department
This may be needed if the student has written his/her thesis for a company or the results will be published in a journal.
Create an assignment in Moodle, where students send in their thesis for plagiarism control to Turnitin
See instructions to your right.
The supervisor makes an assignment in Moodle where the students submit their thesis for evaluation. In the settings for the assignment, activate the Turnitin plugin, click "Index all submissions" and "Allow students to view the similarity report". At Notify graders about submissions, choose Yes, then you will get an e-mail when a student sends in his/her thesis.

If there is a need for classifying the thesis as confidential, see instructions!
